I'm so happy today. I got to be one of the first aiders from Seafield to help out at MPSJ. It's my first time tugas-ing so i had this huge smile plastered on my face. The weather was kinda hot when i first got out so i was happy to see that there was a tent for St John first aiders. Turns out there were only 4 person who came : Sok Kuan, Melanie, me and Thu Yuen (we cadets got to know him as lance cpl Cher yesterday).
This is a malay school. A teacher came over and brought 4 bottles of mineral water for us and briefed us about today's hari sukan. Turns out they range from KINDERGARTEN to FORM 1. I was like "wth..i wonder how huge is the school..." while our two very very experienced seniors smiled and nodded in a profesional kind of way. That malay teacher was very nice and witty. She said that Thu Yuen was a rose among three thorns. haha..good one! And she thought we were all Form 5/6. You should see thwe expression of shock on our faces.
The event started about 2 pm. The cute children "marched" to the field. Then, the headmaster talked for about 1 whole hour while the students and us first aiders stood until our feet hurt. The telematches started.
Nothing happened for the next few hours..except the teachers continued the telematches in the heavy rain. That was kinda bad. The children might fall sick!
By 5pm, we were so bored until we wished it ended faster. That was when Melanie saw her friend and the children can't resist running in the rain.
The teachers were very thoughtful to have prepared foosd for us, 4 pink plastic bags, each consisting of a container of bihun, mineral water and a pear were given to us. The food was kinda delicious.
By 5.30, finally, FINALLY there was a casualty!!! (no, i'm not cursing anyone but a hari sukan would not be normal without casualties...) This casualty is a malay girl who had muscle cramp in the upper part of the leg (is that how to say it?. Sok Kuan helped her to apply counterpain but it didn't get better. The girl's mum suggested the cooling spray. I helped to spray and sendiri kena spray. Luckily it didn't burn my hands like counterpain does. Oh, rite, its a COOLING spray , of course it doesn't burn.
By 6pm we went back home! Although today was not as fun as i expected, it was nice in a weird way. i hope my next tugas will be fun!!! =D bye for noww~~

"Don't ever let yourself believe that the role you play in the lives of other's is not an important one, especially in the lives of the ones you love and who love you. No matter how big or small that role is, or may seem, it's a very important one, and it is one that only you can play." Don't underestimate yourself. Someone out there may need you. -David Archuleta

Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself: I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.

I have dreamed in my life, dreams that have stayed with me ever after, and changed my ideas; they have gone through and through me, like wine through water, and altered the color of my mind.
