**The most important thing is to have confidence**

Me and Pei Er arived at SMK USJ 13 at 7am. Stepped inside feeling fear and anxious. My head kept going "exam exam exam". I'll make this short, please continue reading if you are. For about 1 hour, we masuk baris, sing st john song, study last minute and went to theory. Theory was quite ok for me.

Pei Er had everything planned (or so we thought). There were 6 parts, theory, CPR, choking, recovery position, transportation and bandaging. We thought about going to CPR and choking first, but we we were not allowed to as the room was not prepared yet. So, our team which consists of 4 persons, Wan Ying, Pei Er, Jie Hui and yours truly decided to go for transportation.

Vei Lynn and Jia Foo were added in our group because there were not enough members to form a team. Having 4 out of 5 comp squad members who got into the state review and 1 ambulance cadet who is an ex-comp squad member, the judges went easy and let us use the stretcher. easy-peasy. I wished i had gotten into comp squad though, then i could gain alot of knowledge..too bad.. So, i had the honour of being the casualty, and i must say, they did it quite smoothly, as i didn't feel any sign of uncomfortable-ness. They did excellent, except for the part where they stood up and i almost had the risk of rolling down on my left side as Wan Ying and Jie hui were not really stable. Out of practise, tsk tsk... XP After that, we split back into two by two.

For our third test, Pei Er and I decided to go for choking. I don't know why but i tend to become nervous when it coms to CPR and choking. VERY nervous. I tried to stay calm, but failed. I think the main reason is because i had no confident. So i went in, my mind went blank and got a lot of stares and "no"s from the examiner. He seemed kind enough, so i didn't panic that badly. Charlie very kesian la..I did 10 heimlich on him..and Chyi Tian ALMOSt took a picture of the nervous state of me, that woud've looked horrible if he got to take it..

Fourth test, bandaging. Pei Er went first and i "kena" head injury, gunshot wound and another wound which i'd forgottenwhat it is. So, i got a scalp bandage on my head and my hand was bandaged tightly, very tightly. My beloved Seafield seniors were around me, so i felt really safe in their presence. On my right, Queenie, Hoover, and Han Leon. Behind me, Wan Tching and Wai Yien. One surprising thing is that Hoover actually remembered our names although we only met him last holiday, which was not more than 1/2 months, 3 days a week during comp squad training. Ah well, some people have AMAZING memories! Don't get me wrong, i remembered everyone, ok? ( well, ALMOST everyone...)And Pei Er suffered alot from my super tight elevation sling, and me tickling her toes while trying to tuck in the bandage. sorry la..Then, Pn.Tan asked us questions.

Went to the waiting room to rest before ging to CPR. Chyi Tian (a.k.a lance corporal Ng) and Wan Tching chatted with us.

Fifth , and last test, time for CPR and recovery position. Went on a trip to the toilet with Pei Er. As the nearest toilet was locked, we had to go to the other end of the school..*phew* and went back again. When we went back, the queue didn't shorten. I heaved a sigh and went back to studying. By that time, 2 of the examiners have changed to.. Thu Yuen(a.k.a lance corporal Cher) and Pn. Tan!!! I hoped they'd be my examiners because it is nice to see someone familiar while i was panicking. I heard some usj 13 members hoping to get thu yuen as their examiner. Guess they hoped to get someone familiar too. I did recovery position with Elaine. Waited for awhile, then Thu Yuen asked for a seafield cadet to do CPR. I was the only seafield cadet left. So, i was very nervous and forgot to clean little anne. I made alot of mistakes, such as:forgeting to shout for help and doing chest compression slightly wrong.. I think Thu Yuen got big head now after watching me do CPR :P. And I'm really grateful for the advices he gave me, such as teaching me to do ECC properly and he said that " the most important thing is to have confidence. If not, the bystanders will be even more nervous if you do that." ok..this is a piece of really good advice. I'll bear that in mind. :D
