I went to Shanghai, China with my familia for 6 and a half days. This is supposed to be my dad's company trip but alot of his colleagues brought their kids too. As there were too many people, we were seperated into 2 groups, A & B. Those who went alone and/or brought along a grownup child is Group A. The kiddies and familia is group B. Naturally, my family is in group B. There were other kids too. Luckily I was not the eldest. There was Jun Yen (if I'm not mistaken), who is like, a year older than me. There was also a guy who was 1 year younger than me. The others were little kids not older than 11. The ones who are 11 is my sister and her friend, who, coincidentally is my dad's colleague's child. *hums "Small World"..
Malaysian tour guide : Lester / Lesther (didn't ask spelling) :P Main China tour guide : Xiao Liu China tour guide 1: Bill China tour guide 2: An aunty who speaks softly but her voice is amazing!
Day 1 Went on board the airplane and had a nice in flight lunch which consisted of nasi lemak, orange juice, fruits etc. The surprise was the dessert. I wonder how did they know i like Magnum ice cream.. So everyone got an ice cream each..as if the air was not cold enough. Got down the plane, up the bus and our tour guides introduced themselves. Xiao Liu was about 50 years old, tall, and has quite a Malaysian accent as a result of being tour guide for malaysians for a lot of years. Lesther is approximately 27, does not speak much but his presence is very easy to notice as he wears typical teenage clothes. Which is to say , black and white, sunglasses. One thing i noticed about him and the group A teenagers: they are almost the same height as me, Lesther and a girl slightly shorter, the others taller than me by abit. But in school, I'm considered average.. look at Amanda.. :P When we arrived at WuZhen it was already evening. WuZhen is..just not on this earth! Its like being transported back to the time where the great poets Li bai and Sudong Po were still very much alive. Those houses look like what you can see in a movie about the olden days, movies about warriors. The dinner was excellent! And i had beer.. which tastes diluted as it contains only 2.5% alcohol. I had beer for every lunch and dinner for this 6 and 1/2 days. Alcoholic :P I prefer being a shopaholic. Had a walk in this beautiful place before sleeping on the comfy bed. zzZZzzz..
Day 2 Woke up at 6 am and the sky already looked like 8 am in Malaysia. Had a walk at the other side of the river. Breathtaking. Went back for breakfast which looked delicious but..was like leftovers. Went on the boat and travelled 0.5km across the river. It took 10 minutes as the boat was pulled by 2 guys. With oars. And the boat has 50 people on board. Ok, i won't question why they have strong muscles. stopped by a museun and saw some animal specimens. Went to Xi Hu, which is like Titiwangsa. Had some ice cream, went on a boat ride around Xi Hu, got some pretty fans as the weather was like malaysia, but dry. Not humid. Terrible heat. Went to see some performances at night. Nice! boiught some delicious bread and instant mee for supper.
Day 3 Had a tour guide, Bill to bring us around the Lei Feng pagoda, famed for the story of the White Snake. I've read that story before, and it is very touching. In an unromantic, summary way: Man saves snake, snake turns into beauty by magic power, marries man to repay him, evil monk captures husband, traps beauty under leifeng pagoda, their son grew up 18 years later, became the best scholar (zhuang yuan) of China, begs sky to let his mum go, happy ever after. There you go. For romantic version please search yourself or ask me to tell you the whole story. Leifeng pagoda is very modern and has an escalator and elevator after rebuilding of the government. Went to Shizilin, a place build by Sudong Po (if i'm not mistaken). Then, went to Niaochao no 2 to take a group B group photo.
Day 4 Went to a famous chinese museum and Mingzhu ta. Went to the wax museum at mingzhu ta, saw a performance. at night, met with group A at Shanghai tan for group photo.
Day 5 Went to the Shanghai expo. Excellent weather today. Went to the KFC first. Then, Iraq pavilion, Myanmar, and the other small pavilions. No need for Japan and China, have to wait 5 hours. gila meh.. Had papa john's pizza at night. The nicest pavilion we went tonight: The France pavilion. For this, France chartered 7 planes to bring 7 priceless paintings from the Musee d' Orsay, Paris. I liked The Box by Pierre Bonnard best. Oh ya... by the way I got shoved by a 70 year old woman who was hyper when the people say that they can get the chop for the "expo passport". She was like "chop! chop!" and shoved my right arm. I was like O.o .. When we got back the bus, some people claimed to have seen Xiao Liu's " girlfriend". Xiao Liu:' Where got? That was Lesther's ex colleague. I worked with her before". Lesther:" But i dont't know her.." All:" Ohh... Xiao Liu.. tsk tsk.." xD
Day 6 Went to expo again. It was raining cats and dogs today. Luckily i brought my parasol. Went to a few pavilions again, then the Australian one was quite nice. By 3 p.m, we were already walking through the green lane going into the malaysian pavilion. I felt like a V.I.P. Malaysia boleh! They had alot of performances, including lion dance, the world number 1 team from Muar. And there were Malays showing their talents by helping to hit the drums and such.. 1 Malaysia. Saw our Minister of Education being the emcee there. Inside was nice too. Wanted to go to the Espana pavilion but the crowd was too big. sigh.. Went to Nanjing Lu by underground train, and it was like berperang. scary.. We haven't got out from the train and an apek shoved us to get up. Nanjing Lu was colourful with neon lights everywhere.
Day 7 After shopping, went back home. :)

"Don't ever let yourself believe that the role you play in the lives of other's is not an important one, especially in the lives of the ones you love and who love you. No matter how big or small that role is, or may seem, it's a very important one, and it is one that only you can play." Don't underestimate yourself. Someone out there may need you. -David Archuleta

Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself: I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.

I have dreamed in my life, dreams that have stayed with me ever after, and changed my ideas; they have gone through and through me, like wine through water, and altered the color of my mind.
